History

Dr. Y Yohannan’s ministry Journey
Hailing from the tiny village of Cheruvakkal, situated in Ayoor within Kerala’s Kollam district, Rev. Y Yohannan stands as a beacon of dedication. As the offspring of the late Mrs and Mr Gee Varghese Yohannan, he felt the divine call quite deeply and committed himself to heavenly service at the tender age of 15.
This young man fuelled his faith by immersing himself in religious studies, completing his theological studies at the reputable Faith Theological Seminary in Manakkala, Kerala. The Spirit of God then guided Pr. Yohannan to North India for His glorious ministry, where he would make his special calling stronger.

A North Indian Call
Fearlessly and without any hesitation, he ventured into North India, setting foot initially in Jammu & Kashmir’s Rajouri and later settling in Alwar, Rajasthan in 1980. Alwar, colloquially known as the “Lion Gate of Rajasthan,” was infamous as a place of resistance towards gospel teachings, and it even witnessed the martyrdom of Evg. Dorai Raj in 1966.
Undeterred at the age of 19, Dr. Yohannan undertook the daunting task of spreading the gospel in Rajasthan’s unreached regions, where the Gospel had not yet penetrated. It was an uphill task, but he tackled it with unwavering determination and complete faith and trust in God.

Bethel Fellowship Society
Accomplishing such a mission required a robust platform, leading to the birth of Bethel Fellowship Society in 1995. Situated in Alwar, this society served as a cornerstone for Dr. Yohannan’s endeavours. Acting as the founder and president, Dr. Yohannan started bringing about a positive change and transformation through his sheer commitment to saving the lost souls in Rajasthan.
The Almighty God used him and his colleagues in His mighty hands to spread the work from Alwar to its neighbouring districts. There were many hurdles in the smooth functioning, in mission work and co-ordinating the ministry, keeping all these in mind he shifted the headquarters from Alwar to Jaipur as the need to coordinate across districts became more apparent and to ensure effective management.
